Christiane Fortin is an international brand ambassador for Rockwell Art Canada, a professional artist and instructor based in Québec, Canada. With over 30 years of experience in watercolour painting, watercolour remains at the heart of her artistic practice, while textile art offers a complementary avenue for creative exploration.

Inspired by the natural world, Christiane explores its beauty through colour, light, texture, and organic forms. In watercolour, she is particularly drawn to the delicate beauty of flowers and the fluidity, transparency, and luminosity of the medium. She also enjoys creating large-scale works that allow her to explore the expressive possibilities of watercolour.

 

Alongside her painting practice, Christiane creates unique felted textile works using wool, silk, and other natural materials. Through the interplay of textures, transparencies, and volumes, she explores the tactile and sculptural qualities of felt, creating distinctive and expressive pieces.

Christiane is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC), La Société Canadienne de l’aquarelle (SCA), and L’Atelier d’aquarelle Le Partage. She serves as Vice-President of the SCA and is also a distinguished member of the International Watercolor Society (IWS) and a member of the International Feltmakers Association (IFA).
